CONNECT/SERVE/GROW
Acolyte Ministry
St. James acolytes assist in worship by carrying the processional cross, lighting and extinguishing candles, carrying the processional torches, and helping with the bread, wine, and offering of the people in preparation for communion.
Altar Guild Ministry
St. James Altar Guild is responsible for and devoted to the setup and dismantling of the altar for weekly services; cleaning of silver and brass altar vessels, care of altar linens and the displaying of seasonal colors.
If you feel called to be part of Altar Guild, plase contact Deacon Patti for more information. Men, woman and youth ages 13 + may join.
Chalice Bearer Ministry
A lay minister who administers the chalice at the Eucharist services.
Children's Ministry
St. James Children's Ministry is a time where children may be presented a short lesson on the Bible or the Liturgy, time of play, interaction, socialization, and fun. If you feel called to be part of the St. James Children's Ministry, please contact Deacon Patti for more information.
Church Clean up Ministry
Helps with the various tasks of cleaning and maintenance needed at St. James
Our Church Clean Up ministry include:
Church Cleaning (vacuuming, dusting) General Maintenance Gardening and watering plants
Decoration during special services Snow removal Lawn mowing

Coffee Hour Hospitality Ministry
Coffee Hour Hospitality hosts prepare coffee, tea and, set up the light refreshments after the Sunday service. They also assist in the clean-up and organization of supplies for this very important ministry.
Healing Ministry
The healing ministry team gathers after the service at the altar to offer prayers for healing, to lay on hands, and anoint those who come forward in need of prayer and support.
Intercessory Prayer Ministry
Members pray daily for the needs of St. James Church, our community, world situations, and for individuals whose names have been placed on the St. James prayer list.
Lay Eucharistic Visitors Ministry
Eucharistic Visitors take communion to those of our parish family who cannot get to church due to illness or frailty. This is a much-appreciated ministry and helps our shut-in brothers and sisters remain part of the St. James parish family.
Lector's Ministry
Lectors read the Scripture lessons during worship services. Lectors are scheduled according to their availability.
Worship Music Ministry
Worship Music Ministry consists of a number of gifted musicians and singers who support the worship at St. James during the Sunday Service. Rotation listing is available.

Ushers & Greeters Ministry
The Ushers' & Greeters duties include welcoming worshipers before the service and assisting the clergy and lay ministry in conducting those services. Specifically, ushers are responsible for distributing service bulletins, counting and recording service attendance, taking the offering to the altar, and directing communicants to the altar for the Holy Eucharist. Two ushers are usually assigned for most services,
St. James Episcopal Church Vestry
The basic responsibilities of the vestry are to help define and articulate the mission of the church; to support the church's mission by word and deed, to ensure effective organization and planning, and to manage resources and finances.
Youth Ministry
Youth Ministry provides opportunities for youth to come together in a Christian environment in fellowship with other youth to grow in spiritual formation and to develop leadership within the church. Youth are encouraged to take on leadership roles, share their gifts, and grow. "Living out the Gospel!"
St. James has many volunteer ministry opportunities which vary in time and commitment from one day to long-term.
